No Two HTF Community Members are Alike
We're entrepreneurs, parents, artists, students, inventors, small business owners, designers, teachers, retail professionals, coders, farmers, scientists, accountants, and so much more. Most of all, we're dedicated to actualizing the positive changes we want to see in our community. And of course, we're passionate about Harlem. We're guided by some principles that we think are pretty neat. Take a look below:
SELF-ACTUalization
"I have been in Sorrow's kitchen and licked out all the pots. Then I have stood on the peaky mountain wrapped in rainbows, with a harp and a sword in my hands." - Zora Neale Hurston
Harlem is a hotbed of inspiration. As an ode to the Harlem Renaissance greats who came before, Harlem Tech Fund hopes to usher in a new era of self-actualization. We welcome our community members with open arms as their authentic and unapologetic selves.
unconditional support
"When people care for you and cry for you, they can straighten out your soul." - Langston Hughes
A community is about more than a place, it is about people. By working to achieve goals, sharing experiences, and engaging in important conversation, we are able to develop an unequivocal empathy for each other, leading to deep and unwavering support.
social justice activism
"Now is the accepted time, not tomorrow, not some more convenient season. It is today that our best work can be done." - W. E. B. Du Bois.
If anyone's human rights are violated, there is an urgency to act. If there is disparity in the world, there is an urgency to alleviate it. Our community aims to weave our various passions directly into imperative social justice work, in order to ensure city and world wide equality and sustainability. From a lens of innovation and dedication, we are confident we can work together to solve our most pressing issues.
